Need To Paint Your Pool? Get It Painted In 4 Easy Steps

We're kicking the summer off, and what better way to do it than enjoying your pool! But before you can enjoy your pool, you’ll need to take care of some maintenance tasks - one of which is painting your pool. Don't worry; painting your pool is not as difficult as it sounds, and we're here to help. By the end of this article, you'll be an expert managing your pool painting project!
Here Are 4 Easy Pool Painting Steps To Follow:

1. Choose The Right Type Of Paint:
When painting your pool, you want to use paint specifically designed for pools. A swimming pool paint usually is epoxy-based and has higher durability and resistance to pool chemicals. Choosing the right type of paint will protect the health of your pool and your family.

2. Prep The Surface:
Once you've selected a swimming pool paint, it's time to prep the surface of your pool. This step is important because it will ensure that the paint adheres properly and doesn't peel off. To prep the surface, you'll need to sand it down with coarse-grit sandpaper. Once you've sanded the surface, vacuum up all the debris, so there's nothing for the paint to adhere to.

3. Apply The Primer:
Now that the surface is prepped, it's time to apply a primer. This step is important because it will help the paint stick to the pool and provide a barrier between the pool and the paint. Be sure to follow the directions on the primer and apply it evenly to the surface.

4. Paint The Pool:
Once the primer is dry, it's time to start painting! Again, follow the paint cans’ directions and apply an even coat to the pool. If you're using a brush, use long strokes so that you don't miss any spots. After you've finished painting, it's important to let the paint dry completely before using the pool. This usually takes about 24 hours.
